Gold’n’Fish

Gold’n’Fish series collects the canon of the greatest portrait paintings of the Republic ¥ in one place and confirms that “it all depends on which side of the fence you are standing”. As in every society, also in Republic Y there is the social pyramid with two eternally dependent classes, the noble and working class. Because in this country nothing is entirely certain, and the reality often adapts to the situation, every citizen plays the role of both nobleman and a working class hero. The canon of portrait paintings from the Republic ¥ has been shaped for centuries, and one can trace its many influences from the world greatest masters such as Vincent Van Gogh, Diego Rivera, John Hubbard, Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Rembrandt van Rijn, Duane Hanson, Mehoffer, Alexander Gierymski, Leon Wyczółkowski and Wojciech Weiss. Oddly also Polish school of portraiture from XVII/XVIII century had a huge impact on the development of Republic ¥ portrait painting. With a unique way of framing, in which the frame is an integral part of the image this very minimalistic realism perfectly closes the compositions of the world where 2D lives integrally with 3D
